Modern chandeliers and ceiling lights in the interior
We select for interior design
Despite the development of alternative types of residential lighting, chandeliers in the interior are considered a classic solution for most, although with some amendments regarding fashion trends. Initially, the idea of a chandelier was to group candles, lamps, and later electric lamps as high as possible to maximize the diffusion of light over an area. In French, Luster has several meanings, but the main ones are brilliance and gloss. Accordingly, this is not just a few light bulbs brought together, suspended from the ceiling, but also an object that gives a certain charm to the room.
By style
First of all, you need to understand that any ceiling lights are considered in a particular interior based on their compliance with the design of the room. A pretentious and massive, gilded chandelier surrounded by hi-tech space motifs will look completely inappropriate and wild. Similarly, a minimalist or industrial ceiling in a gothic or rustic setting will create a sharp dissonance.However, some combinations of elements close in stylistic meaning or even contrasting, but coinciding in tone, material or form, are possible. The classification of ceiling lamps by style is quite extensive, but the main types of design are:
- vintage - include baroque, castle, empire and gothic styles. To some extent, they can be combined with each other: pretentiousness of bends and pomp of forms is inherent in each of them;
- retro – vintage motifs from the beginning of the 20th century, imitating gas or kerosene lamps, can be combined with the steampunk direction: corresponding to the time, but more fantastic and original;
- industrial - loft, modern, hi-tech, minimal - all these styles have a common basis in the form of modern materials and practical forms. Able to be combined while observing color harmony, although modern high-tech may be dissonant with a loft that reflects the industrial trends of the 70s of the 20th century;
- natural - include rustic, floral and most ethnic styles, such as African, Japanese or Moroccan. Ethnic directions should match the design of the room. An exception may be the Scandinavian style, which fits into the modern or even loft theme with its minimalism.
In the interior, chandeliers perform an accentuating function, when among the calm colors and minimalism, the lamp stands out, riveting the eye.

By type of attachment
How the chandelier will be attached to the ceiling depends to a greater extent not so much on its design, but on the parameters of the room.

Such chandeliers are mounted, as a rule, on a hook screwed into the ceiling. For concrete floors, anchors are used.

Suspended and plasterboard ceilings are not a reliable basis for fastening massive structures, so fastening devices are installed even before the installation of suspended ceilings.
The second mounting option is a single or cross-shaped mounting plate.

The distance between the bolts for most models is individual, so the mounting straps are included with the device.
By material
Each style is dominated by certain sets of materials. In natural design compositions, respectively, wood, paper and fabric occupy a central place. The tree definitely needs a paint and varnish coating, as it dries out and cracks over time from a nearby heat source.

Paper and fabric designs are inherent in Asian style and some design solutions. These materials are impregnated with dust over time, but special dust and moisture protective impregnations eliminate this drawback.

Metal and glass are considered reliable and versatile materials for lighting fixtures. Firstly, they are suitable for most interiors. Secondly, their thermal and chemical resistance allows operation in almost any conditions for many years. The refraction of lamp light in these materials makes them look like diamonds. Moreover, it is not at all necessary that these be classic pendants: the possibilities of crystal and Swarovski crystals allow them to be used in any composition, up to high-tech.

The most affordable and simple material is plastic. It is considered not the best solution in most cases, but modern polymers can be both heat resistant and even somewhat environmentally friendly if made to standards.

How to choose the right one for the room
For some rooms there are certain preferences for choosing ceiling lights. This applies to both material and size, shape, color.
Bedroom
In the adult bedroom, it is generally acceptable to use low-hanging structures in pastel and soothing colors. Excessive brightness here will be unnecessary. In addition to the main lighting, floor lamps or table lamps low power.
Living room
Since it hosts receptions, various entertainment events, light up the hall should be bright and a lot. If the room is elongated, then several chandeliers are installed in such a way
Children's
Despite the simplicity of plastic, it is most suitable for a child's room, taking into account the selection of the most environmentally friendly option. Fragile glass structures should not be installed here. It is better to use overhead LED lights installed close to the ceiling. It is desirable that the light source be covered with a durable ceiling.
Hallway
The corridor in most layouts has a rectangular shape. Respectively installed here either a long chandelier on a rod, or a row of identical lamps. The room does not need high brightness, but it should be lit evenly.
Kitchen
Kitchen lighting is usually combined. Soffits are installed above the working area, and chandeliers are suspended above the dining table, sometimes quite low: at a distance of 80–120 cm. For the right atmosphere, soft, unobtrusive tones and colors are used, but the brightness of the light should allow you to easily carry out minor manipulations.
Fashion trends 2021
The end of 2020 marked the beginning of a trend that rests on three pillars:
- An abundance of light.
- Diversity equipment options at different levels.
- Combinations of similar in stylistic meaning of design objects.
Maximum illumination achieved not so much by the power of the lamps as by their number. In this sense, designers suggest installing several identical or similar chandeliers in the space of one room.
This trend has been going on for several years, but in 2021 there is an emphasis on the correct geometry with different proportions. At the same time, attention is paid to multi-level decorative lighting. In this regard, history develops in a spiral, and unfairly forgotten sconces and floor lamps already perform together with studio lamps on high tripods.
If the height of the ceilings or the tightness of the room does not allow placing sconces at a standard height, then it is advisable to place them along the walls under the ceiling. Thus, the room visually stretches and becomes more voluminous, especially when combined with the backlighting of the baseboards.
A separate item is given to the zoning of space due to the lamps hidden behind the interior items that illuminate the furniture. This is most often implemented by installing LED strips, as the most compact and economical light sources.
And although LED lighting is more suitable for minimalist styles like high-tech, with the right approach, LED strips are combined even with pseudo-rustic lamps and even exclusively natural themes.
A special bias still continues to include natural trends in minimalist or industrial styles. For example, the design trend in the form of honeycombs in various designs is quite suitable for both modern and antique furnishings.
For lovers of antiquity, retro and loft, original handmade lamps are suitable.

In addition to wood and iron, fashion again makes a rollback to crystal, but in a modern role. Crystal in general is a universal material, and with each turn of fashion, new facets of it will be revealed.
A variety of "spider" options fit into industrial styles, and spice up peaceful and cozy environments.
If balls at different levels were popular last year, then the new year gives rise to various cones in the same plane.

One of the trends of the year was the use of light and lighting tools as decoration methods. Fashion and romantic night lighting did not bypass. Floor lamps and night lamps, creating various shapes with the help of shadows, became a special chic.
However, themselves chandeliers can also be a central figure in the interior. Each such lamp in itself is already an object of art and is able to introduce a person into the atmosphere of a fairy tale.
As the past 2020 showed, a long stay in the walls of the house leads to increased requirements regarding the style of the room, since all elements of decorative equipment should not quickly “get boring” and become boring. The situation gave impetus to the search for new ways to diversify life, and experiments with light showed the promise of this direction. Of course, lighting designers will not miss this opportunity, but with the right taste, anyone can demonstrate chic results. Fine things are also made with their own hands, and some products from the handmade series can compete with the works of design studios.
